Jack Kehrli, Violin & Viola

Jack Kehrli earned his Bachelor’s degree in Viola Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM) as well as a Professional Studies Certificate. He was Principal Viola for the CIM Orchestra while there, and won the Robert Vernon Prize for viola. Currently Jack holds a tenured position in the Akron Symphony as Assistant Principal Viola and has served as a substitute member with The Cleveland Orchestra on numerous occasions. Jack was also named Principal Viola for the orchestra at the Kent Blossom Music Festival. 

Jack has been praised by previous instructors and peers for his ability to identify the specific problems inhibiting a students ability to perform, and provide solutions that help resolve the issue. He believes in an individualized approach for each student, providing feedback that not only helps to address the immediate issues a student faces, but also long-term tools that the student can use to explore and address problems on their own.
