Nolan Juaire, Guitar
Nolan Juaire graduated from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music with a Bachelor’s of Music in Classical Guitar Performance. He studied primarily with Los Angeles Guitar Quartet members William Kanengiser and Scott Tennant, and had frequent private lessons with Pepe Romero. Nolan earned his Master’s from the Cleveland Institute of Music where he studied with Grammy award winner Jason Vieaux.
Nolan is on the guitar faculty at the Cleveland Institute of Music Academy and has also taught at the Fine Arts Association in Willoughby. He believes in the value of sharing knowledge and igniting excitement for the arts. He emphasizes effective practice methods and personalized technical development, and finds joy in helping people achieve their artistic goals.
Nolan won 2nd place in the Chicago Guitar Festival and Competition and 2nd place in the American String Teachers Association Guitar Competition. He also received the 2024 Rosalia Ablan Memorial Prize in Guitar. He has performed as a soloist in many contexts, from performances at venues like The Music Box and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, to community events with ChamberFest Cleveland, to solo recitals reaching across the country. Nolan has performed on numerous occasions with the Cleveland Orchestra as well as the Columbus Symphony. In addition to performing as a classical guitarist, he has also performed rock, jazz and as a fingerstyle player.
